Our Denver Real Estate firm organized and promoted a NEIGHBORHOOD WIDE garage / yard sale on Saturday, May 8. We were sponsors of the Wash Park Home Tour, and they agreed it was a good idea to share the date and drive traffic to the neighborhood for their benefit and your profit.
Attached was the door hanger that drove traffic to YOUR home! ALL were welcome to participate by setting up shop and selling to passers-by. We promoted this to all papers and news/online outlets as well.

I can’t imagine how great we are all going to feel after Saturday’s sale. Imagine Sunday… once the house-cleaning / de-cluttering is done, the organizing is over, a little cash is in our pockets (doesn’t hurt) and we can just rest and enjoy a day off!  Weather is currently predicted to be “Times of sun and clouds. SIGNS ~ I am having 20 signs printed to advertise the neighborhood yard sale. I am going to post these on Lincoln, Alameda, Downing, University, etc… the major traffic streets surrounding and through our neighborhood. I will post these at as many major intersections as I have signs. As we have over 25 homes in the sale now (and growing every hour), I can’t possibly put up signs throughout the neighborhood too, so please feel free to put up a couple of your own cardboard / Home Depot / generic yard sale signs to route to your home the traffic I’ve sent into Washington Park side streets.
ONLINE MARKETING ~ In addition to e-mailing an announcement out to the 1,222 members of www.IloveWashPark.com and the I Love Wash Park Facebook fan page (it’s free to join both), as well as the 250+ www.facebook.com/DenverLifestyleFans, we’ll also have a yard sale flier in all the Home Tour souvenir bags and an ad in the Home Tour brochure (along with the 4,000 door hangers that might have grabbed your attention). In addition, this sale was featured on thisweekindenver.com and in a number of other media outlets and e-mail newsletters. I’ve shared this with friends in the TV news business trying for a little Saturday morning mention.
CRAIGSLIST: I encourage every one of you to add a free little ad on http://denver.craigslist.org and multiply our results with a joint effort. Help your neighbors by pointing out there is a map to all participating homes posted at www.DenverLifestyle.com
TIME ~ The sale is advertised as being 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Obviously, you can be out for as long or as little of that as you like. It was designed to be only until 2:00 so that folks would still have a chance to visit the Steele Elementary School benefit home tour of Washington Park Homes (www.washparkhometour.org).
