10th Annual White Rose Gala & Champagne Hotel
Rick Janson, Realtor with and owner of Denver Lifestyle Real Estate, donates 4,000 LED flicker candles to create 2,000 paper bag luminarias which are distributed to the 200 homes lining Washington Park. Rick relies on the graciousness of our 200 neighbors to light and set out the candles on the shortest Sunday of the year in a ring of light that is over 2 miles long. People from all over the neighborhood and the city are welcome to come walk the park and enjoy this ring of light that is a wonderful testimony to community spirit. The candles, bags and organization are Rick’s gift to the neighborhood for supporting his real estate business at www.DenverLifestyle.com and for being such wonderful neighbors. The 2011 event is scheduled for Dec 18 from 5:00 – 9:00. Bags will be distributed in the week leading up to the event.
We are thrilled to be asked by neighbors, friends and clients to bring back the Luminaria night for a second year. Last year we gifted 2,000 LED flicker candles, bags and sand to the homes bordering the park in an attempt to create a ring of light to “push back” the shortest night of the year (OK, the shortest Sunday, but close enough). 75% of the homes – a full 1,500 candles – were put out through the voluntary efforts of your neighbors on the park.
We are going to repeat our effort this year and welcome one and all to participate. We can not possibly provide LED candles and bags to everyone in 80209, but we encourage all in the area to help push back the night with us on December 19 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. LED candles and bags are available at many retail outlets. If requested, I can post a number of resources for you here.
If you can’t put luminaria out, ask a neighbor to help you. Do you have a neighbor who needs help? Offer assistance. This is a wonderful opportunity to build bridges, connect with new people and invite friends from all over the city to come over to your house for a cup of cocoa and a stroll around our favorite park. Last year there were spontaneous carolers and other holiday cheer throughout 80209. It was a wonderful to witness.

Washington Park Denver CO Luminaria Night
We have enlisted the help of Sean Maley of CRL to present to you the changes that Denver made to the zoning code that will be in place in 2011. There are only a couple of months left wherein you can preserve any rights under the old code.

Our Denver Real Estate firm organized and promoted a NEIGHBORHOOD WIDE garage / yard sale on Saturday, May 8 2010. We were sponsors of the Wash Park Home Tour, and they agreed it was a good idea to share the date and drive traffic to the neighborhood for their benefit and your profit.
Attached was the door hanger that drove traffic to YOUR home! ALL were welcome to participate by setting up shop and selling to passers-by. We promoted this to all papers and news/online outlets as well.
